The 6 additonal rubbers allow you to get up to 12 new versions of designs based on the selected rosette.

By using one of these rubbers in conjuntion with a rosette, you can flatten the rosette's shape, increase the bumps, or even make them more pronounced by using a sharper rubber. And don't forget, running the cutting frame on the opposite side of center gives you a totally different design to work with - the inverse of the design you see on the rosette.
